AGEFI – Generative AI
By Jean-Baptiste GERARD | Nov 7, 2023

Following an invitation from L’AGEFI to speak on the topic of generative AI at Palais Brongniart in Paris, I, as the CEO of Laystone Consulting, began by addressing the question of whether generative AI represents a true revolution. My stance is clear: it certainly does. This revolution is redefining the interaction between technology and human creativity, unlocking a plethora of opportunities for innovation and creativity. However, it’s crucial to acknowledge the ethical and societal challenges it poses, highlighting the necessity for responsible and thoughtful application of generative AI.

I pointed out a significant shift in the B2C sector, particularly illustrated by the rapid adoption of tools like ChatGPT. Generative AI has evolved from its foundations in advanced analytics, machine learning, and deep learning to more comprehensive foundational models. This evolution is propelling businesses into a new industrial revolution, characterized by increased productivity and the automation of repetitive tasks. This allows our teams to concentrate on their core expertise, enhancing their roles rather than replacing them.

At Laystone Consulting, we specialize in guiding businesses through this transformation by providing consulting and training services. We prepare them for the new era of Big Data, assisting in transforming their business models to achieve greater productivity. One of the major challenges for businesses today is acquiring quality data and models that can effectively utilize generative AI.

Our strategy for implementing AI involves three key stages. First, we focus on identifying and creating high-value use cases that can transform business models, improving productivity and enhancing customer experience. Next, we develop operational models for deploying generative AI, which includes refining methodology, skills, and talent. Finally, we establish a technological platform that enables these use cases to scale and maximize their value.

Generative AI has a significant impact on various business sectors, including customer operations, R&D, IT development, marketing, and sales. In customer operations, it improves omnichannel strategies and personalizes customer interactions. In marketing, it aids in content creation, while in R&D, it contributes to the development of new business models, services, and products. For IT development, generative AI is instrumental in generating and compiling code. The banking, high-tech, and life sciences sectors are among those most profoundly affected by these advancements.
